Guests injected new energy into growing their business at this year’s Sydney User Group Conference hosted at the Sydney Parliament House.

This year’s conference focused on our curated speaker line-up, with international SAP experts from all over the world, as well as existing clients such as AGL, Glencore and Ballance Agri-Nutrients who shared their stories and tips. SAP experts included SAP Mentor Danielle Larocca, who flew in from the US to share her exclusive know-how on the future options for SAP, ERP and HCM customers. Global industry expert Paul Hammersley detailed how to manage tight project deadlines by improving data and test management processes. Soterion's CEO, Dudley Cartwright, gave us invaluable advice on reducing audit risk and exposure. Other expert speakers included Kathryn McLean from ZAG, Paul Snyman from EPI-USE Labs, Ina Fox from EPI-USE and Gert Maritz from EPI-USE.

Tim has a background in infrastructure, security and operations management. He has led large teams in Europe, delivering operational excellence for both government and corporate business.

Tim joined Ballance Agri-Nutrients in 2012 to help establish new operational in-house capabilities and improve the performance of their outsourced vendors. His relationship with SAP extends more than 15 years, and he helped represent Ballance to accept the Global Best Run award last year.

Mich Smith
Mich Smith | SAP Technical Architect, AGL

Mich has more than 20 years of SAP experience in technical solution consulting to many customers in consulting organisations including SAP Australia. His responsibilities at AGL include the technical solutions and operations management of AGL's multiple SAP landscapes & architecture with a strong focus on simplification, automation, quality testing supported by up to date data provision and innovation to achieve best of breed outcomes for AGL and their customers.

Jason Prebble
Jason Prebble | Business Systems Applications, Glencore Coal Assets Australia

Jason started with Xstrata Coal in 2005 as an IT Systems Engineer at one of the mining operations. He moved into application project support in 2010 and was the Information Systems Manager for NSW operations from 2011 to 2013. He later became the Information Systems Manager for Glencore Coal Assets Australia in 2013 to 2015 and then became the Group Manager of Applications till now. Jason is responsible for the enterprise wide applications, supporting the business in day to day operations, service and change requests, projects and strategy.

Ian Fox is the SAP SuccessFactors Delivery Lead for EPI-USE with over 15 years combined experience in SAP HCM and SuccessFactors. He has experience in numerous project implementations, across numerous industries and regions. He has expert understanding of SAP’s HCM and SuccessFactors functional components and their various integration points.

Gert Maritz
Gert Maritz | SAP Functional Expert, EPI-USE Australia

Gert is a team lead at EPI-USE Australia for SAP HCM optimization. He has significant design and configuration experience in ECC5 & ECC6 across HCM modules specialising in FI integration. His involvement in post-implementation training, gives him insight into key end-user concerns & requirements and the relationships between business processes, requirements and system functionality.

Kathryn McLean
Kathryn McLean | HCM Product Manager & Enterprise Architect, ZAG

Kathryn has been actively involved with SAP HCM/SuccessFactors implementation for nearly 22 years, of which 15 was spent with the team at ZAG. During her career she had exposure to a wide array of SAP HCM functionalities. She assists in developing the SAP HCM capabilities of ZAG and supports customers with new, innovative solutions.
