Debating GDPR in Denmark

Written by Magdaleen Kotzé | Feb 1, 2018 2:50:34 PM

Lively debate about GDPR (the General Data Protection Regulation) was a key focus area of the fourth annual EPI-USE Labs Nordics User Group conference, held in Skodsborg, Denmark on 26 January. With the GDPR compliance deadline of 25 May just around the corner, this round-table session covered a topic of great interest to the delegates.

“It was really refreshing to learn about where others are in their GDPR journey, and what steps they are taking,” said Therese Malcho of Nets. “There isn’t one catch-all solution to the GDPR challenges, so it was valuable to find out more about what other companies are doing.”

Attended by delegates from 22 high-profile companies in the region, the User Group event also included interactive sessions on managing business change with SLO (System Landscape Optimisation), what's new in HR reporting, Cloud and Managed services and navigating the future SAP roadmap. Client speakers included Jari Pekkanen, from a major household appliances manufacturer, and David Glans from Stretch, who discussed the impact of business change from a customer and SAP implementation partner’s perspective, based on several case studies.

Attendees had the chance to explore how EPI-USE Labs products and services have solved other companies’ challenges, and be inspired by new ideas.

“Many people remarked on how they enjoyed the knowledge-sharing aspect of the day,” said Nordics region Business Development Manager, Karin Ejstrup. “They were particularly interested to hear that we are now offering cloud hosting along with specialist managed services, which in combination with our existing products offers a comprehensive solution for our clients. Also, they wanted to find out more about how our GDPR compliance suite can help them.”
