About our client
Our client is a leading airline company in the European region operating hundreds of scheduled flights in the region every day, with over 30 million passengers a year.
Resolving historical payroll queries
The HCM business processes had been moved to the cloud with EC and ECP (via an EPI-USE Labs’ PRISM project) but the legacy SAP® system was still being used as a ‘display only’ system. Day to day, it was still needed for historical payroll queries, particularly for Denmark, because the Danish payroll had been reimplemented in ECP.
It’s a real positive that we have the ability to view payroll results just like in the PC_PAYRESULT transaction!
Archive Central: access all areas of legacy system
EPI-USE Labs had already completed the migration to the cloud for the airline, so they were pleased to discover that we also offer a solution for their legacy system. EPI-USE Labs extracted all the historical data, including some custom tables that were used to display a previous payroll history that was originally migrated into SAP. All the data was available in Archive Central, including payslips, payroll cluster data, audit trail information, and Generic Object Services (GOS) notes and attachments on employees.
The ease with which EPI-USE could change table and field names for us, and show the descriptions instead of the codes for things like Wage types and Absence types was excellent. We agreed exactly on how we wanted to view the data at the end of the project and haven’t needed to change it since!
Working in the cloud
The old system could be finally switched off and the costs of running it recouped. Just like the current data, the historical data now resided in the cloud with zero maintenance activities for our client. The users can search for employees and quickly return the information they require.
We appreciated EPI-USE Labs’ willingness to listen and adapt the technology to meet our needs. They not only extracted historical data, even from Z tables, but made the viewer on it work correctly (even when it hadn’t always in SAP).
