Nestlé is big and complex and sometimes complicated. My name is Claudia Bragheri, and I work for Nestlé in the IT hub in Barcelona. We are commercially selling in every country of the world. We have around three hundred thousand employees plus a lot of external collaborators. We started with data privacy a while back. Of course, we started with role segregation. But then GDPR asked for a lot more. Our legal department decided to apply retention concept down to the letter. So they wanted us to delete data from the system following the requirements of each country legislation. That meant a very, very high variance of retention periods and that's when the Data Privacy Suite came into play. It is a super flexible tool, so we started looking at the standard behaviour which is absolutely good enough for half of our countries, but then we started crashing against requirements from the countries that were a little bit more complex, and that's why it is important to have a flexible tool. Beforehand, we needed to collect information from one part of the system and information from another part. This is much easier. You click a button and it goes, explores and catches all the data that are related to you, which is absolutely necessary from many points of view. First, of all, because in this way we would be fully compliant with the local legislation, which is something that Nestlé really cares about. It also has impacts on all the systems that are of course making use of HR data. These projects we have started in our HR core systems, SuccessFactors and SAP, and then with the information that comes from the tool, from the log of the deletion, we are able to cascade the information of what has been deleted to other solutions so that the other solutions as well can follow suit and make themselves compliant. Data Privacy SuiteとData Sync Manager
