Data Retain is our mass processing solution within the Data Privacy suite. This allows us to identify data subjects from throughout your SAP environment and submit them into the redaction process. You can have multiple retention policies. So you may have a retention policy for employees where after one year you would remove the family member information and maybe the bank details. But after five years you would remove the communication and it's only after ten years that you would then fully redact the information within that record. And you can take those same approaches through the full SAP data model for transactional data, for the master data, as will meet your compliance.

Data Retain, part of our Data Privacy Suite, is our mass processing solution for data privacy compliance. With Data Retain, you can analyze and identify data subjects across your SAP environment before submitting them for redaction. You can also build highly configurable rules to apply retention periods to different types of data, allowing for multiple retention policies. In this example, you may have a retention policy for a specific object type, where after one year, you would redact the business partner, customer or vendor. Then, after ten years, you would fully redact the information within that record. With Data Retain, you have a proactive solution to keep your data compliant as you focus on running your business.
