Many organisations have moved their core HR processes from on-premises SAP HCM to cloud solutions like SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central, but not many consider what happens to that legacy employee data in their SAP system.
In some cases a dedicated HCM SAP system may be being maintained in a display-only state, which can be inefficient; but in many cases the historical HR data is still present in an SAP system used for Finance and Logistics. While the data is old, it is still highly sensitive information which must be carefully secured.
