Role: Accounts Assistant, Manchester, UK
Position overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organised Accounts Assistant to support our finance department. The ideal candidate will assist with day-to-day accounting tasks, including maintaining financial records, reconciling bank statements, processing invoices, and preparing financial reports.

Responsibilities
- Manage Accounts inbox queries.
- Assist with bookkeeping and maintain accurate financial records.
- Process accounts payable and receivable.
- Reconcile bank and credit card statements regularly.
- Support the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close process.
- Help prepare financial reports and summaries.
- Handle data entry and maintain accounting databases and spreadsheets.
- Respond to vendor and client enquiries regarding invoices and payments.
- Support audits and ensure compliance with financial regulations.
- Assist with expense reporting and reimbursement processing using tools like OpenAir.
- Perform administrative tasks as required by the Accounting team.
- Prepare and submit VAT returns in accordance with local tax regulations.
- Ensure proper VAT treatment on domestic and international invoices.
Qualification required
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (or currently pursuing).
- Accounts qualifications not necessary, but it would be a benefit if you have started AAT, or have an interest in studying.
Experience and skills
- Basic knowledge of Accounting principles and financial reporting.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Accounting software.
- Strong organisational and time-management skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Position, compensation and benefits
- Full-time permanent position.
- Based at the EPI-USE Labs office in Manchester.
- Hybrid working (working from home and at the office).
- The role will include minimal travel.
