Role: Senior SAP System Architect (Presales & Solution Design)
Position overview
We are looking for an experienced Senior SAP System Architect to drive technical presales and solution architecture within the Korean or Japanese region. In this role, you will bridge the gap between complex technical requirements and strategic business objectives.
As a Senior SAP System Architect, you will act as the primary technical authority in the region, partnering with the sales team to design and articulate high-value SAP landscape and data management or transformation solutions. You will provide the architectural vision for clients undertaking S/4HANA migrations, carve-outs, and cloud transitions.
You’d be part of a highly specialised global architecture community, collaborating with peer architects and product experts in Asia, USA, Europe and Africa, while reporting directly to the Regional Executive for Korea and Japan.
If you’re a Basis Administrator with over 10 years of experience who loves solving complex architectural puzzles, and can explain the value of technical solutions to executive stakeholders, then we'd be happy to hear from you!
Responsibilities
We are looking for a strategic thinker who can balance technical depth with commercial acumen.
-
Strategic technical presales and product advocacy
- Technical advisory: Act as the lead technical consultant during high-level client engagements, building credibility with CIOs, Enterprise Architects, and SAP Basis Managers.
- Product-centric architecture: Architect solutions that natively integrate EPI-USE Labs’ capabilities and products (test data and landscape management, data reporting and variance solutions) and services into the client’s landscape. You must be able to explain why our specific solutions are the critical enabler for their ongoing landscape and data management or transformation requirements.
- Proof of value: Orchestrate and deliver sophisticated demonstrations that educate our clients on the benefits of EPI-USE Labs services and solutions over standard approaches and other toolsets in the SAP market.
-
Landscape transformation architecture
- Migration strategy: Architect comprehensive approaches for S/4HANA transitions, specifically focusing on Test Data Privacy, Test Data Volume Reduction and Selective Data Transition (SDT) scenarios (hybrid approaches) powered by our Data Sync Manager suite.
- Service integration: Identify opportunities to include EPI-USE Labs’ professional services (such as Technical Operations, Cloud hosting, Data privacy services) into the technical proposal to ensure client success.
- M&A support: Design technical solutions for Mergers, Acquisitions, and Divestitures (carve-outs), using our specialised Intellectual Property (IP) to ensure strict data segregation and compliance.
-
Cloud and hyperscaler strategy
- Cloud migration advisory: Guide clients on the technical prerequisites for migrating SAP workloads, including with RISE with SAP, to SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central Payroll or public cloud platforms (such as AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Data volume optimization: Articulate the strategic value of data reduction prior to cloud migration. Demonstrate how ‘right-sizing’ the database via EPI-USE Labs’ solutions significantly lowers Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) of storage and transfer costs.
-
Regional market enablement
- Partner support: Empower regional System Integrators (SIs) and partners through technical enablement sessions, ensuring they are equipped to position EPI-USE Labs solutions accurately.
- Localization: Adapt global use cases and technical collateral to align with the specific technical and cultural nuances of the Korean or Japanese market.
Qualification required
Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Information Science, Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
Experience and skills
- SAP Basis expertise (10+ years): Extensive, practical experience in SAP Basis administration, installation, and lifecycle management. A deep understanding of the underlying SAP NetWeaver/HANA architecture is non-negotiable.
- SAP ecosystem experience: Extensive, practical experience of the range of SAP system types, delivery models and functional models, and an understanding of underlying table structures and data models.
- Transformation methodologies: Proven expertise in SLO (System Landscape Optimisation), SDT (Selective Data Transfer), and System Copy methodologies. Experience with SAP TDMS or competitive transformation tools is highly regarded.
- S/4HANA competency: Demonstrated experience architecting technical paths to S/4HANA, including HANA sizing, SUM/DMO execution, and compatibility analysis.
- Cloud competencies: Solid understanding of SAP architecture on major public clouds (AWS, Azure, GCP) and the ability to discuss migration economics (such as ‘Lift & Shift’ versus Optimized Migration).
- Product mastery: A proactive commitment to developing a deep understanding of the EPI-USE Labs portfolio. Success depends on becoming a subject matter expert on how EPI-USE Labs software and services specifically solve SAP problems.
- Consultative mindset: Ability to transition effortlessly between deep technical discussions with Basis engineers, and value-based conversations with executive leadership.
- Global citizen: Comfortable working across time zones and cultures, leveraging the knowledge of a distributed global team.
- Language skills: Sufficiently proficient in English for international communication (Business fluent), plus mother-tongue or bilingual proficiency in Korean or Japanese.
