Data Retain is our mass processing solution within the Data Privacy suite. This allows us to identify data subjects from throughout your SAP environment and submit them into the redaction process. You can have multiple retention policies. So you may have a retention policy for employees where after one year you would remove the family member information and maybe the bank details. But after five years you would remove the communication and it's only after ten years that you would then fully redact the information within that record. And you can take those same approaches through the full SAP data model for transactional data, for the master data, as will meet your compliance.

With Data Retain™, you can build highly configurable rules to apply retention periods to different types of data. When executed, it will apply those rules to identify sets of data which are now due for redaction. This will allow your organisation to keep applying retention policies and redacting data on an ongoing basis, to help you comply with GDPR and other data privacy legislation.
