About DLR
The German Aerospace Center (Deutsches Zentrum für Luft- und Raumfahrt e.V., abbreviated DLR) is the national centre for aerospace, energy and transportation research, founded in 1969. DLR and its predecessor organisations have a history spanning over 115 years, including one of the world's first institutions dedicated to aeronautics research.
As a sovereign agency performing critical spaceflight tasks for the Federal Government, DLR develops and controls the national space programme, and represents the interests of Germany in space-related international bodies. Employing over 10,000 people, DLR has been at the forefront of research and development in aeronautics, space, energy, transport, security and digitalization for over a century.
The challenge: time-consuming HR reports
Given increasingly demanding and more complex reporting requirements, including time-consuming manual processing of SAP ad hoc queries, DLR approached EPI-USE Labs to refine their SAP HCM reporting framework. Their plan was to deal with the increasing complexity more easily and efficiently than in the past, while simultaneously improving data integrity.

Manual errors have been minimised through automation. Simple steps produce up-to-date HR reports that are compatible with SAP, with increased flexibility bringing efficiency to DLR.
Improved HR reporting at DLR
Query Manager has dramatically simplified and speeded up DLR’s reporting processes, while improving reporting precision. Much manual effort has been eliminated, and reporting that previously took hours is now produced in an instant, with better quality to boot. Diverse data sources are being drawn upon, producing coherent output with relative ease.
From the very first demonstration of EPI-USE Labs’ Query Manager, we recognised its immense potential. We had found the solution to our HR reporting challenges.
