I have had the opportunity to work for both small and large employers – including one of the largest employers in the world. In both cases, there were some other payroll technologies used in addition to SAP or SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central Payroll. There are a few reasons for this; often it’s because it's for a country with a low employee count, and it’s simply not cost-effective to deploy SAP or SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central Payroll for such a small population.

 

The challenge then becomes the manual time and effort to manage the HCM data for those employees in non-SAP payrolls, which typically requires several extra manual steps to ensure that they are accounted for. This could include ensuring they receive the proper communications, that they have access to the right information, or are counted as part of the relevant company reports.
