SAP's Transition Rule (previously the Grandfathering Policy)
SAP has just updated its Transition Rule, previously referred to as the Grandfathering Policy. This update impacts timelines for that same base edition SKU.
For net new customers:
The official transition deadline has been extended by 90 days. The new cut-off is September 30, 2025. Deals involving this SKU must be finalized by then. After that, new contracts should use the updated replacement SKUs.
For existing customers:
There’s no change. The base edition SKU (8019533) can still be sold through December 31, 2025. Customers already using it can continue to purchase additional quantities, restructure their setup, or renew under the same terms.
