SUMMARY: Semantik has launched to an excited response from clients and partners. Presented at INSPIRE, SAP and SAP Sapphire events across Europe, New Zealand and the US, Semantik is positioned as the AI- and agentic-powered semantic layer and missing foundation for enterprise AI.
We have just launched our Semantik platform, and our clients are excited! We're using our 42 years of enterprise-wide data expertise and semantic understanding of SAP to connect the meaning already hidden in your data, and give AI agents the business context they need to operate effectively.
We presented Semantik to our clients and partners at five recent INSPIRE events, which took place in the Nordics region, Germany and Italy; at an SAP event at Christchurch in New Zealand; at our SAP Sapphire networking event in Orlando, USA; and at SAP Sapphire in Madrid, Spain.

"From our interactions with our clients at the events, it's clear that everyone is laser focused on embracing AI, and the response to Semantik was incredibly positive," says Paul Hammersley, Senior Vice-President. "Data is everywhere in enterprise systems, but mapping the right data for the right context is the hard part."
"We were delighted by the response from our clients and partners," says Magdaleen Kotzé, Head of Global Marketing. "They appreciate that we have embarked on a journey of change; we have seen the world change and we are adapting to it, ready to support them where they need us. We have a clear vision of where we are going, but of course it will take us some time to get there. Meanwhile, we’re adapting and improving our existing solutions every day in response to our clients’ needs, and the rapid changes brought by AI."
Paul Snyman, Head of Product Management, explains that most enterprise AI projects fail.
"It's not because the models are bad; but because the data they're reasoning on has no meaning. That's why we have just launched Semantik.ai at client events across Germany, Denmark, Sweden, Spain, New Zealand and the US. It's our semantic layer we've been building inside SAP customer deployments over 20 years, packaged as the missing agentic foundation for enterprise AI."
"The Semantik platform demonstrates our ongoing focus on delivering value through innovation," adds Dr Tiaan Scheepers, Head of Product Engineering. "We saw a lot of excitement and eagerness for collaboration from our clients at these events, so we are looking forward to working closely with them, and responding to their feedback."
Responses to FAQs from our clients
Naturally, our clients have had many questions. Here are a few of our clients' questions, and the responses:
You can and should absolutely carry on using the solutions you trust, as they are the best solutions out there. We are dedicated to supporting and enhancing our current solutions, and working with you when you are ready to upgrade. Staying true to our slogan 'value through innovation' - it's about delivering AI value where it makes sense.
Right now, your enterprise data is highly fragmented for several reasons:
- SAP complexity: In SAP landscapes, critical information does not live in one neat place; it is scattered across thousands of disconnected tables with cryptic names due to massive scale and data volumes.
- Disconnected enterprise systems: Across your broader organisation, data is spread across multiple disconnected systems (like Salesforce, NetSuite, and data warehouses) that speak completely different technical languages about the exact same business entities.
- Unstructured data silos: Vast amounts of useful but unstructured data are trapped in different formats and spread across disparate storage sources, such as SharePoint, intranets, Amazon S3, and on-premises file storage systems.
Semantik automatically reads your system and instantly does up to 98% of the manual mapping work that consultants usually charge millions for. It gives you a unified business language so you can migrate faster, protect your data automatically, and deploy AI that actually understands your business.
We are moving incredibly fast, but we are being deliberate. Semantik Map is the entry point to the platform. Because this is all new, we are currently looking for forward-thinking organisations who want to join a beta program to run Semantik Map against their own organisational data. We can then work with you to decide what we do as a next step, based on what the map uncovers. You can be involved as we build this out! But importantly, while we are finalising these new AI components, the foundational tools you already know and trust (like DSM) are fully available and continue to be enhanced to help you with your immediate challenges right now.
You are always in control. The work of our AI agents is fully transparent – meaning zero black boxes and a fully visible decision trail. You also have an adjustable 'Autonomy Dial'. You can set the AI to ask for your approval before every action, or let it handle routine tasks while pausing for your approval on critical decisions. Crucially, the system never takes a consequential action that you cannot see or understand.
Yes. While our heritage is deeply rooted in solving complex SAP challenges, our strategy is 'SAP-first, but enterprise-wide.' Our platform creates a unified business language that connects SAP with SuccessFactors, Workday, Salesforce, and beyond.
We support the entire data lifecycle. Semantik can handle your full system retirement, and can deliver your enriched data seamlessly to external data fabrics like Snowflake or Databricks.
No. Through standard AI integration protocols, our platform is designed to feed your other tools (like SAP Joule or Microsoft Copilot) with the business context they need to function, rather than compete with them.
No, the company is still EPI-USE Labs. Semantik is the name of our new AI-native data platform.
